A strong transit system

Orléans East-Cumberland deserves reliable and affordable transit to help put an end to the congestion crisis. Transit means more than less traffic on the roads – it means a community that is connected, access to markets and community hubs, and turns Orléans into an attractive destination for residents across the city while boosting tourist accessibility.

I want to bring a breath of fresh air, and connect our beautiful community in a meaningful way.

This will be done by:

  1. Making transit Functional, Fast, and Frequent by increasing the sizes of our bus fleets and restoring crucial funds that were cut.
  2. Freeze the bus fare at $2.50 a ride, making transit affordable for everyone.
  3. Remove all fares for youth 18 and under.

An Affordable City

We need to prioritize housing that makes sense in 2026, not 1986 by building more affordable housing and rental units for growing families that are grounded in our neighbourhoods. Everyone from newly graduated University students to growing families and seniors should be able to find affordable places to stay.

We’ll grow Orléans East-Cumberland with intention, making homes and rentals affordable, all while maintaining what makes our community unique. I’ll protect our urban boundaries, ensure buildings are localized in our community, connect our neighborhoods through a working public transit system, all while maintaining our waterfalls, trails, and community/green spaces. Let's grow Orléans East-Cumberland smart.

Growing Businesses in Ward 1

Orléans has birthed countless Ottawa-renowned and long lasting businesses – it’s time that City Council supports and uplifts them in a real, concrete way.

We need to be able to get to and from our local markets and businesses by strengthening our public transit and creating a permanent market space in Orléans. The Orléans Farmers’ Market, Heart of Orléans Market, Orléans Bloom Market, Spring Vendors and Makers markets, all deserve a hub located centrally in our community to call home, rent on a consistent basis, and for members of our community to be able to access and find easily.

We’ll relate our local businesses and market spaces to public transit and ensure that there is space for local businesses in new developments.

Transparency in City Hall

When big decisions are made at City Council, we’re often left scratching our heads as to why our councilor voted the way they did, or how our councillors voted in the first place. As your City Councillor I will:

  1. Develop a Council Vote Tracker to make sure information is open and accessible to people
  2. Hold regular by-monthly town-hall meetings, allowing for community members to have meaningful 1 on 1’s with me and my team
  3. Publish my reasoning behind any highly contested Council Vote
  4. Release my donor list at the end of the campaign (with the consent of donors)

No Developer Dollars

City Councillors are supposed to work for their community, but developer dollars corrupt our politicians.

I promise to:

  1. Refuse and refund any campaign donations from individuals connected to the development industry.
  2. Once elected, refuse freebies or hand-outs from insider lobbyists

Maintaining our Communities Identity

Our identity is more than our heritage sites, buildings, and nature – our culture and community is equally as important. Canada is a bilingual country, and our City Councillors need to be able to communicate in French, as well as ensure that representation from various community members are at the table. During my campaign and once elected, I will:

  1. Hold public and private consultations with diverse communities and cultural representatives with the goal of ensuring that all community members have a voice at the table and a say in City Hall.
  2. Hold consultations and meetings with Francophone organizations such as MIFO, community associations, and resource centres in order to ensure the growth of our proud Franco-Ontarien community.
  3. Make sure expert opinions have been consulted before making decisions that impact our communities access to service.
